The rootstock is a hybrid of sour cherry and a complex interspecific hybrid including sour cherry and Prunus maackii. Trees on this rootstock reach 65–70% of the size of trees on seedling rootstocks; the height of sweet cherry trees is typically 3–3.5 meters.

The rootstock provides early entry into fruiting in the 3rd–4th year and high yield. It is characterized by good winter hardiness, drought tolerance, high anchorage, and adaptability to heavy and moist soils.

It is characterized by good compatibility with most sour cherry and sweet cherry varieties. Features include a tendency to form root suckers and sensitivity to prune dwarf virus and prune ring spot virus.
