The plant is a compact deciduous perennial 15–25 cm in height and 30–50 cm in width. Elliptical or oblanceolate leaves are covered with characteristic silver spots and speckles.

Flowers are gathered in drooping inflorescences on short peduncles and bloom in April-May. As flowering progresses, their color changes from red-burgundy to purple-violet. The variety forms a dense bush and is resistant to powdery mildew.

Cultivation requires shady or partially shaded areas with moist, organic-rich soil. The plant does not tolerate heat and soil drying well; it is suitable for borders, rock gardens, and containers.
