The variety is a compact type of pear, also known by the code name Sel 2-2-76. It was obtained by gamma-ray irradiation in vitro of the original 'Abate Fetel' variety.

The main morphological feature is the restricted growth of the tree. Anatomical studies of the leaves of this specimen revealed differences in the structure of the leaf blade, including changes in the thickness of the mesophyll and palisade parenchyma compared to the original variety.

This specimen is a specialized object for studying the genetics of compact growth. Information on its use in commercial fruit growing as a commercial fruit variety is absent.
