The variety, also known by the experimental number HW608, was developed at the Harrow Research and Development Centre. The tree has a spreading growth habit. The variety is suitable for fresh market sales and industrial processing.
The fruits are large, of elongated pyriform shape. During the ripening process, the skin acquires a yellow-green color with a possible pinkish hue or red blush. The flesh is cream-colored, aromatic, fine-grained, with a sweet taste and mild acidity.
A key advantage is increased resistance to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) compared to the Williams and Doctor Jules Guyot varieties.
