ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety is part of the historical and genetic agrobiological heritage of the Tuscany region. There are hypotheses that it may correspond to the Superba variety described by Pliny the Elder.
The fruits are used for fresh consumption, as well as for the production of distillates and the preparation of traditional local dishes. The shelf life of the fruits is 3 to 4 weeks at room temperature and up to several months in a refrigerator.
