Variety description

The variety is very old, known since before 1771, and has French roots. Its fruits are classified as dessert-type; however, due to their small size and rapid ripening, they were often used for processing, including the preparation of marmalade and drying.

The fruits are small, with rough yellow-green skin and a brown-red blush on the sunny side. The flesh is yellowish-white, firm, and rather dry, possessing a pronounced sweet taste. The variety is an early summer type; the fruits are not suitable for long-term storage and quickly become soft.

The tree is characterized by fairly vigorous growth and is well-suited for training as high-stem or half-stem trees. The plant is undemanding, and the trees possess good resistance to windthrow. The variety is thermophilic, preferring deep soils with neutral pH and sunny locations protected from strong winds.
