The variety Doyenné Blanc is an old European pear cultivar known by many synonyms, such as White Doyenné, St. Michael, and White Butter. The fruits are of medium size and have a broad pyriform or ovate-obtuse shape.
The fruit skin is smooth, waxy, and straw-yellow in color with small green dots. The flesh is characterized as buttery, juicy, sweet, and aromatic.
The plant is demanding in terms of growing conditions: it requires deep, fertile soils and a warm location. In unfavorable conditions, the fruits may become smaller and susceptible to spotting.
