CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree is vigorous, with a sparse pyramidal crown and long, geniculate branches. It enters fruiting on seed rootstocks in the 6–7th year. The variety has high climate requirements, as it possesses insufficient winter hardiness and drought tolerance, requiring cultivation in southern regions.
Fruits weighing 150–220 g have an elongated bottle shape and thin, rough skin of a golden-rusty or cinnamon color. The flesh is cream-colored, tender and melting. The fruits hold firmly to the tree, are not prone to dropping, and are versatile in use, maintaining their shape during heat treatment.
It is characterized by good general resistance to pests, but exhibits susceptibility to scab and canker. When using quince as a rootstock, the variety requires an interstock. The issue of self-fertility remains debatable, therefore pollinators are often recommended.
