The Dobbelt Philip variety is known in Danish pomology as a hardy variety that previously held significant positions in commercial and amateur gardening. In historical literature, its fruiting is described as irregular, while the fruits possess the property of not falling from the tree.
In mid-20th century studies, the variety was mentioned in the context of phytopathological monitoring, in particular as an object for testing for latent viral infections. There is also data on the susceptibility of the variety's leaves to "sunscald" — blackening, although this trait manifests moderately.
