10 August 2026
The variety was named after a doctor surnamed Martin from Schwabenheim in Rheinhessen. The first mentions of it in nursery catalogs date back to the early 1930s. In modern German registers, the variety is classified as a well-known historical variety.
Precise agronomic characteristics, including fruit morphology or disease resistance, are not described in available sources. Seedlings of the variety are difficult to obtain, and detailed data on it may be contained in specialized pomological reference books of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
