The tree is vigorous and winter-hardy, develops successfully when grafted onto seedling rootstock or quince, forming a pyramidal crown. The variety possesses resistance to scab.

The fruits are oval-round, often bumpy at the stalk, and have rough, thick skin of a greenish-yellow color with brownish-gray spots and a marbled pattern. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, with a pleasant aroma and a sweet, slightly tart taste.

Harvest maturity occurs at the end of October. The variety is a winter type and is valued as a pear for long-term storage, differing significantly in ripening time from the Doyenné du Comice variety.
