The variety is traditional to Slovenia and has been known since the mid-19th century. The fruits are characterized by an early ripening period and a strong aroma, which has led to their widespread use in households for drying and the production of distillates, although they are also suitable for fresh consumption.
The plant is adapted to the local climatic conditions of Slovenia. Modern agronomic research is examining methods for its vegetative propagation, which is related to the need to preserve this genetic resource.
