The variety was obtained in Tartu from root suckers of the Beurré Flandre rootstock. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and an upright crown; sharp thorns are sometimes found at the ends of shoots. The onset of fruiting can be late.
Fruits are large or medium-sized, pear-shaped or blunt-conical. The skin is greenish-brown or yellow-green with a carmine-red blush. The flesh is white, melting and sweet, with a low content of stone cells, but prone to mealiness when overripe. The shelf life of the fruits is several weeks.
The variety has good resistance to scab and medium or good winter hardiness.
