The Bere Napoleon tree forms a broad-pyramidal, sparse crown with a weak to medium growth habit. As the trees age, winter hardiness increases, however, young saplings are sensitive to low temperatures. The variety requires pollinators to ensure yield.

Fruits weighing 120–150 g have a short-pear or bell shape. Upon ripening, the smooth skin changes color from light green to bright yellow and becomes covered with small brownish dots. The flesh is white, very juicy, of a buttery consistency, and possesses a wine-sweet taste and pleasant aroma.

It belongs to the autumn varieties: harvest maturity occurs in September, the consumption period is in October-November. The fruits are intended for fresh consumption. The variety is prone to shedding in the wind and can be affected by fungal diseases in wet climate conditions.
