The variety belongs to the summer pear group. The plant is used in breeding programs as well as in agronomic trials to evaluate the influence of various rootstocks on tree development.

In scientific literature, the variety is considered in the context of monitoring susceptibility to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) and within the framework of breeding programs aimed at increasing resistance to scab.
