Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in the second half of October, consumer maturity from mid-December; the pears can be stored until February. The fruits have an ovoid shape, green skin with characteristic russeting, and juicy, medium-firm flesh.

The tree is distinguished by weak growth, a broadly rounded crown shape, and reaches 6 meters in height. Fruiting begins 5–8 years after planting. The variety is resistant to scab and Monilinia, but sensitive to the pear stony pit virus.

The plant is undemanding to soils, but does not tolerate sites with excessive moisture well. Trees require quality pruning and are preferable for cultivation on vigorous rootstocks, as they exhibit weak growth on dwarfing rootstocks.
