The medium-sized fruit has a medium-pyriform shape. The skin is yellow-green in color and abundantly covered with russeting. The flesh is white, sufficiently juicy, with a slightly acidic taste.
The variety belongs to the category of winter pears. Harvesting is traditionally carried out in October, and the fruits are intended for winter consumption. Historically, the variety was often used for canning, in particular, pickling in vinegar to serve with meat dishes.
The variety is autochthonous and represents a part of the traditional genetic heritage of the Abruzzo region. It is currently considered rare and is protected under genetic resource conservation programs.
