The tree is vigorous and productive, well-adapted to the conditions of central Italy. The variety is considered very old, with a probable origin in France or England. Currently, the plant is more often found in collections of heirloom fruit crops and is a subject of agrobiodiversity conservation.

The fruits are large, with an elongated pear shape. A key morphological feature is the long, thick peduncle, which is often offset from the apex. The skin is firm, yellow-green in color with gray russet stripes. The flesh is white, juicy, sweet, and aromatic.

The variety belongs to the winter group, with harvesting taking place in October. The fruits maintain their consumer quality for at least a month after harvest. It is traditionally used as a table variety and is also valued for its suitability for various types of culinary processing.
