The tree of this variety has moderate growth and a tendency to form "weeping" shoots. Due to the soft and thin wood, crown formation is difficult, so it is recommended to grow the variety as a bush or standard tree. The plant is characterized by high yield.
Flower buds are formed mainly on long annual growths, which is why the variety does not tolerate short pruning. The fruits are large or very large in size and have a characteristic elongated shape. The skin is brown-rusty, turning slightly yellowish upon ripening while retaining a dull shade.
The variety is a traditional table pear. It should be distinguished from another variety — Fondante de Tirlemont (synonym Beurré Dumortier).
