Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety Tomin d'Invèrn, also known as Tumin d'Invern or Bergamotto, belongs to the species Pyrus communis L. and the Pyrus communis bergamotica group. It originates from the Italian valleys of Cuneo and Cavour, although there are hypotheses about its possible Belgian origin.

The fruits of this variety are characterized by their aroma, high juiciness, and firm consistency. This is a late-maturing variety: harvesting is carried out in the first ten days of October, and the fruits are suitable for consumption from December to April. The fruits are particularly suitable for boiling and baking.
