The variety is autochthonous to the Italian province of Grosseto. Fruits are harvested in late August — early September; they possess good keeping quality, storing for several months in a refrigerator or up to 4 weeks at room temperature.
The use of the fruits is universal: they are consumed fresh, and also used for the preparation of distillates and local culinary dishes. Detailed morphological descriptions of the tree are not presented in official reference books.
