Zemgale trees are medium-sized. The fruits are medium-sized, have a truncate-conical shape, and their surface is greenish with a pale marbled pattern. The flesh of the fruits is sweet, juicy, and melting.

The variety is late-autumn; harvesting is carried out in the first half of September. In cool conditions, the fruits can be stored until January-February. The variety possesses relatively good winter hardiness and medium resistance to scab, but is susceptible to pear rust.

To obtain a yield, the variety requires cross-pollination, therefore it is recommended to plant it together with other pear varieties that bloom at the same time.
