The variety was bred by Morettini in Florence. The tree has medium to vigorous growth, is highly compatible with quince rootstocks, and is characterized by early bearing.

Fruits weighing from 100 to 160 g (sometimes up to 250 g) have a pear shape and smooth light-green skin, which acquires a yellow-green hue and a red blush upon ripening. The flesh is juicy and buttery.

The variety belongs to the group of early varieties, with ripening occurring in late July – early August. It is prone to parthenocarpy, but is sensitive to scab and highly susceptible to fire blight.
