The variety Zelinka is an old local landrace of Pyrus communis. The tree is diploid; the fruits are characterized by small size and elongated shape.

The main distinctive feature of the variety is high resistance to the pear psylla. It manifests through antixenosis and the plant's ability to inhibit the feeding of pest larvae, which makes the variety a valuable donor for modern breeding programs.
