The variety belongs to the category of folk selection and has been known since the 19th century; it is often referred to as a synonym for Long Scarlet. Used as a table crop for obtaining early fresh produce.
The root crops have a long-conical shape, reaching 12–15 cm in length with a diameter of about 1 cm. The skin of the root crop is colored pink or scarlet.
