The Maarses Prominent variety was obtained by crossing the Jonkheer van Tets and Faya plodorodnaya varieties. The bush is distinguished by vigorous growth, reaching a height of up to 2 meters, with straight grey-brown shoots. The clusters are long, up to 10–12 cm, densely filled with shiny berries weighing from 1 to 3 grams.
The berries have tender flesh and a sweet taste with a sugar content of 15–18% on the Brix scale, and are capable of remaining on the bush for a long time after ripening. The variety possesses winter hardiness and good general disease resistance, however, it may show a tendency toward ovary shedding.
