The bush is vigorous, reaching a height of about 2 meters, with straight shoots. The variety is self-pollinating and does not require pollinator varieties. Fertile loamy soils are preferred for cultivation. The plant has high winter hardiness, but requires preventive treatments against fungal diseases.
The berries have a bright red (cherry) color, a shiny surface, and a mass of 0.8 to 3 grams. The fruits have a sweet-and-sour taste with high sugar content. Dense clusters reach 10–12 cm in length. The variety is versatile in use; the berries are suitable for fresh consumption and all types of processing.
In breeding practice, the variety is often used as one of the reference samples for genetic research and the development of new redcurrant varieties. Due to the habit of the bush, it can be used for ornamental purposes, in particular for creating hedges.
