The Prime Jim variety (index APF-12) is a remontant blackberry with erect, medium-vigor canes reaching 1.7–2 m in height. The canes of the variety are thorny.
The plant fruits on current-year canes, with a late ripening period from the end of August until the onset of frosts. The variety is sensitive to extreme temperatures and requires protection in regions with short summers.
The berries are large, black, and glossy, with a rich flavor and a tart note. Due to the softness of the fruit and low storage potential, the variety is recommended primarily for home consumption rather than commercial production.
