The variety was obtained by crossing the varieties «Malahat» and «BC86-41-15». The plants are of medium to large height with an upright or spreading habit and a moderate number of canes, which are practically spineless.
The berries have a bright red color, distinct gloss, good firmness, and high transportability. The fruits separate easily from the receptacle and are characterized by consistently high sugar content levels and excellent taste.
The variety has high field resistance to Phytophthora root rot and resistance to most biotypes of aphids that transmit viral diseases. However, it is susceptible to raspberry bushy dwarf virus and spur blight.
