The plant is moderately to highly vigorous; canes are straight and thick, with a bluish-whitish hue in biennial plants. Spines are small, soft, and few in number, and are practically absent in the upper part of the canes. The variety is susceptible to a number of diseases.
Fruits are medium to large in size, slightly conical in shape, and ruby-red in color with a glossy surface. They are moderately firm, have a pleasant sweet-and-sour taste, and separate easily during harvest. The variety is characterized by a high content of phenolic acids and antioxidant activity.
Fruiting begins at the end of June. The variety is considered universal, but is especially suitable for processing into juices, jams, compotes, and jellies, as well as for freezing. It is used in breeding work as a control standard and is well-studied in propagation methods, including micropropagation.
