The plant is a trailing shrub with flexible shoots 2 to 5 meters long, which are easily removed from the trellis for winter covering. The leaves are light green, pinnate, with serrated edges. Depending on the form, thorns may be present, although thornless variants exist, which are capable of producing thorny suckers if the roots are damaged.
The fruits are large, oval-shaped, reaching 8.5–10 g with a length of 2.5–3 cm. During the ripening process, the color changes from dark cherry to almost black with a purple tint; the surface is matte. The berries are soft, juicy, and distinguished by a sweet taste with floral notes and a characteristic aroma.
The variety is a summer-bearing type; fruiting lasts from mid-July until the end of summer. The plant withstands temperatures down to -26°C, however, it requires covering to preserve fruit buds. The fruits are used for personal consumption, processing, and freezing.
