The variety is a primocane and is capable of fruiting on current-year canes. The berries are characterized by large size, firmness, and good taste qualities. The fruit color can be lighter than that of the Polka variety. Relatively easy harvesting is noted.

The plant has good growth vigor. The variety is intended for commercial cultivation and is oriented towards the fresh market. Classification of the variety as a blackberry is an error; the designation BP 1 refers exclusively to the Amira raspberry.
