The variety Robisal was selected from the local flora of Romania and was intended for use as a biomass source for energy production in SRC-type crops. In trials on sandy soils of southern Romania, the variety exhibited low growth intensity and a survival rate of less than 30 percent.
In comparative studies, Romanian varieties, including Robisal, demonstrated lower susceptibility to leaf rust compared to some foreign analogues. Salt stress testing in hydroponic experiments revealed shoot wilting of the variety at high concentrations of sodium chloride.
