The variety is a fast-growing shrub willow obtained as a result of a breeding program. Its pedigree combines traits of Salix schwerinii and Salix viminalis.
The plant is used as a highly productive crop for biomass production, providing heat and electricity. The variety was selected based on the results of multi-year yield trials.
The breeding of the variety was aimed at increasing yield and overall resistance to diseases and pests.
