The variety is the result of the hybridization of the species Salix viminalis and Salix schwerinii, with the clones Jorunn and Björn as its parent forms. The plant has lanceolate leaves and a straight trunk with few side branches, resembling the Tora variety in habit.
This variety was developed for biomass production for energy purposes. During studies, the dry biomass yield was estimated in the range of 7.2–8.2 Mg/ha per year. The plant is characterized by a high degree of evapotranspiration and resistance to leaf rust.
