The variety is a fast-growing shrub willow, whose pedigree includes Salix triandra to ensure genetic diversity in plantations. The crop is optimized for conditions in the UK and is intended for use in mixed plantings.

The plant is grown on a short-rotation cycle, which involves harvesting every 3–5 years. In the first year after planting, the variety demonstrates intensive biomass growth. The variety is characterized as a high-yielding and commercially oriented option for renewable energy production.
