The variety is the result of reselection of the Permontra line and was obtained during work on breeding perennial rye suitable for grain production and use as a forage crop.
In scientific literature, this line is mentioned primarily in the context of phytopathological studies, in particular when testing for susceptibility to soil-borne mosaic viruses.
Characteristic features of such breeding hybrids are low fertility, spike brittleness, and a high predisposition to ergot infection, caused by prolonged flowering and maturation periods.
