The variety is a landrace preserved in Southeastern Finland. The plant is tall with a stem length of 180–190 cm. The grain is characterized by its very small size.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness, is adapted to local climatic conditions, and is characterized by low but stable yields. It is traditionally used for baking homemade sourdough rye bread.
