The plant forms a stocky bush with fleshy gray-green or olive-green leaves of broadly ovate shape with a serrated margin. Flowering occurs in the period from August to October, when large corymbose inflorescences of small star-shaped flowers appear on the stems.
The variety possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA hardiness zone 4, and pronounced drought tolerance, while requiring high-quality soil drainage. Due to sturdy stems, the plant is resistant to lodging, and the inflorescences retain their ornamental value even after flowering ends, acquiring a rusty red hue.
