The plant has an upright or bushy habit, reaching a height of 35 to 51 cm. The leaves are colored in gray-purple tones, corresponding to RHS scale N186A and 200A. The corymbose or racemose inflorescences consist of gray-purple flowers with a light base.

The variety is winter-hardy, adapted to climate zones 3–9. The flowering period occurs in late summer and autumn. It is used in landscape design for creating mixed borders, rock gardens, group plantings, and container gardening.
