The Russian variety «Чайка» has a vegetation period of 110–120 days. Tubers are oval-round, weighing 70–125 g, with 6 to 11 tubers formed per plant. Skin is yellow and smooth, flesh is light yellow, eyes are of medium depth.
The variety shows resistance to potato wart (pathotype I), but is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. The Czech variety «Cajka», bred in 1960, is a separate variety obtained from crossing the variety Hindenburg with a pollen mixture, and also belongs to mid-late table varieties with yellow skin and flesh.
