Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was obtained by crossing the Duke of York and Bato varieties. It belongs to the floury variety category, making it well-suited for preparing mashed potatoes, casseroles, soups, as well as for industrial processing into potato flakes, chips, and french fries.

In agronomic studies, the Eba variety has historically been used as a comparative standard when studying resistance to late blight and viral diseases. It is also noted as a high-yielding potato variety.
