The variety was bred using traditional breeding methods and clone selection. Externally, it is characterized by a pronounced purple color of the skin and flesh.

The plant possesses increased nutritional value. Levels of phenolic compounds in the tubers exceed those of common varieties by 4–30 times; a high concentration of iron, zinc, potassium, and magnesium is also noted.

The variety is intended for specialized markets, the restaurant sector, and home use. In the industrial sector, it is used for the production of functional food products, purée, and colored chips.
