The Gullauge variety, which translates as "Golden Eye", is an old variety widely distributed in Northern European countries. Morphologically, the variety is represented by tubers with different skin colors; yellow-skinned forms exist, as well as a red mutant known as Gullauge Rød.
The plant possesses high sensitivity to temperature and good adaptation to the long daylight hours of northern latitudes, demonstrating a high rate of development. The variety is used as a table potato and is a subject of scientific research aimed at studying resistance to pathogens, including scab agents.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
