The variety has light green haulm that develops rapidly in the initial stage but is prone to lodging afterwards. The tubers have a round shape, medium surface smoothness, and fairly deep eyes.
The plant is sensitive to drought and requires fertile soils; under moisture deficiency, it produces a large number of small tubers. The variety is sensitive to mechanical damage during harvesting.
Krostar is slightly susceptible to potato leaf roll virus, PVY, and tobacco rattle virus, but shows susceptibility to PVA and PVX.
