Variety description

10 August 2026

The Montana variety is a mid-early maturing table potato with an oval tuber shape, shallow eyes, and yellow skin and flesh. The plant possesses good initial growth vigor; the average plant height is 54.1 cm.

The variety is resistant to potato wart and nematodes of various pathotypes and shows moderate resistance to late blight. The potato belongs to culinary type A–B, does not boil down during heat treatment, and its flesh does not darken and retains a stable color.

It is characterized by a very long dormancy period, which allows for long-term storage of the harvest. The variety is demanding of moisture and nutrient levels in the soil; during preparation for planting, pre-sprouting stimulation for 7–10 days is recommended.
