The tubers of the variety are large, have a round-oval shape, red skin, and light yellow flesh. The plant possesses a robust foliage system. The variety belongs to culinary type BC with a medium to high dry matter content.
Oleva possesses resistance to potato cyst nematode pathotypes Ro 1, 3, 4, potato wart disease type 1, and Y-virus. It has good resistance to tuber late blight and common scab, with medium resistance to foliage late blight.
When grown, the variety requires a medium or high level of nitrogen fertilizers. The tubers are sensitive to sudden temperature fluctuations after storage, therefore they require pre-adaptation before planting.
