The variety is the result of a cross between the line NDOP5847-1 and pollen from red varieties. The plant reaches an average height of about 56 cm. The tubers have an elongated shape, smooth dark purple skin, and shallow eyes concentrated primarily at the apex.
The tuber flesh is dark purple, which is retained after thermal processing. The variety possesses moderate resistance to common scab, late blight, potato virus Y, and Fusarium dry rot, as well as low susceptibility to soft rot.
Due to its firm waxy texture and rich flavor with nutty notes, the variety is suitable for boiling, frying, and baking whole tubers. It is intended for the specialty fresh market and amateur cultivation.
