The variety is a historical American cultivar that gained wide distribution in Scandinavia and Finland under a common name meaning 'rose potato'. It belongs to very early varieties, with a maturation period of approximately 55 days.
The tubers are round or oval in shape with characteristically prominent eyes; their skin is light pink, and the flesh remains white. The plant reaches medium height and flowers abundantly with white flowers. As they mature, the tubers accumulate starch and become prone to boiling over.
The variety is highly sensitive to late blight of leaves and tubers, as well as to viral diseases, including Potato virus Y. Due to the age of the variety, it is classified as a historical specimen requiring special agronomic care.
