Tubers have an oval shape, smooth skin, and medium-depth eyes. The skin has an intense dark blue color; the flesh is colored in a blue-violet tone with characteristic marbling and a varying degree of pigmentation. The coloration is due to a high content of the anthocyanin malvidin.
Light sprouts are elongated, dark blue-violet in color, and practically devoid of pubescence. After heat treatment, the potato acquires a slightly mealy texture. The variety was historically grown as a collector's specimen and did not achieve widespread commercial distribution.
